Olive Oil Skin Care
May 11th, 2012Even as far back as Roman and Egyptian times the benefits of olive oil skincare have been popular.
Cleopatra knew lots of secrets on keeping youthful skin and this magic oil would have been one of them.
The list of benefits could go on and on, nourishing and soothing, leaving the skin supple, moisturising even the driest of skins, full of antioxidant properties which protect the skin from harmful free radicals, high in vitamin E and moisturising without leaving a greasy oily film on the skin.
One of the nicest things is that you can buy it at any supermarket: make sure you buy the green oil as the clear oil has been chemically processed.
Cleopatra lived in the Mediterranean, an area well known for their beautiful women. She, as women today, would have had to be very careful living in a hot climate to keep out of the dangerous rays of the sun.
There is some research to say that this oil, and especially virgin oil, can prevent cancer or at least reduce/delay skin cancer if used after sunbathing.
Never under-estimate the dangerous rays of the sun. Prevention by keeping away from strong sunshine is always better than cure.
Try making our after sun oil yourself, it’s easy and you will love how it soothes and moisturises your skin, with the gorgeous scent of chamomile and rose.
